Your 35 Cents, or Your Ear!

It seems the Captain has struck upon a theme this morning -- pay, or be very, very sorry you didn't.

Haruna Abukari, an apprentice at Kumasi Magazine, had one of his ears bitten off by one Ishmael Brobbey, a cinema operator at Yabraso in the Ejura Sekyere Dumase District of the Ashanti Region, in a scuffle over 50 pesewas.

The crux of the matter was that the victim (Haruna) had taken his cell phone to Brobbey’s shop for it to be charged, for a fee of 50 Pesewas. But, upon plugging it up for some minutes, Haruna realised that his phone was not charging, and therefore decided not to pay for the service.

At current exchange rates, 50 Ghanaian pesewas is worth about 35 American cents.

  1. Wow. That Ishmael Brobbey dude must be sportin' SOME SET OF CHOPPERS to inflict that kinda carnage. One wonders: Did he do it in ONE BITE, or did he need to GNAW on ole' Haruna Abukari for a spell? If the latter - somebody must have been holding Haruna down??? Ok, that's enough for me on this.
